It's stupid question time again on the Feathery Show

1. Does anybody know how to write a visual basic subroutine that will, say, look at a column of entries in Microsoft Excel, pull the contents of the last cell and plug it in somewhere else if the column has a new entry in it every day? Cause my life would be a lot easier if I could do that.

2. Do [livejournal.com profile] triadruid and I look like we're related? The very very nervous librarian fellow working in the Mid-Continent Public Library yesterday evening asked if we were brother and sister.

That concludes stupid question time. Thank you, good night, and gods bless.

It has been a long standing myth/theory/fact that as partners live together they shift ever so imperceptibly towards each other in looks if not demeanors So possibly so

I suppose we might make the same faces... (and [livejournal.com profile] kittenpants, too -- she wasn't at the library, so there was no chance for any librarians to misinterpret her relationship to me. I bet I make some of the faces she makes, too.)

Besides we of the community and your extended family will always know who you are ;-)

1. No, but one of the Denver Trinity might. You could try asking them.

2. No, you don't. I suspect that the nervous librarian fellow was asking it as a polite way of asking "Dear god, you two aren't dating, are you? Because then you might reproduce, and you're already scaring me with the conversation you're having." (Said scary conversation is purely hypothetical, but seems probable considering the fact that you might have been talking to each other, and the topics that come up when y'all talk do seem to scare the "normal" people.)

Well, I was trying to work out if the man asked us that because we actually look alike, or if he was trying to sneakily ask if we were a couple for some reason. I assumed he was trying to determine if D. was single. But that may just be a tendency on my part.

Don't sell yourself short, he could have been after you. Or both, even. Never can tell with those crazy librarian types.

What are you trying to say? Librarians are kinky?

[identity profile] erusumbros.livejournal.com 2005-08-18 08:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Having seen enough smut that uses school teachers and librarians as the "profession" of porn starletts...

Yes, I think we can conclude this.

I refer you to the librarian/kinky meme that was going around sometime in the spring. IIRC, the most librarian-type people we know are also quite up there with the kinky.

That was my theory, actually. I naturally assumed he was after K, but in retrospect he talked/questioned/made small-talk with both of us about the same.

I think he was just nervous, actually. But theorizing is more fun!

My husband and I have been told we had to be cousins because married people don't relate to each other the way we do. That may be where that librarian was coming from.

That's actually a pretty good possibility. "You're getting along and out in public together, yet not spending money... you must be related!"

Or something.

[identity profile] featherynscale.livejournal.com 2005-08-19 02:30 am (UTC)(link)
Sure. Nobody takes their date to the library, right? I mean, nobody who's not on the [livejournal.com profile] sapiosexual list, anyway.

Nobody who counts (in their world), anyway... which I'm fine with, since the counting lists are pretty much mutually exclusive.

i don't think you look related.
