We started the tear-down process on the back fence on Saturday. ES and
zylch were kind enough to give a hand with board-pulling, but there's still approximately an Imperial mile of fence to be pulled. Not to mention the whole putting-the-fence-back-together part.
While engaged in this destruction, we encountered a loose dog, a German Shepard bitch that had been out roaming the neighborhood. We put her on a tie-chain and fed her, and spent the next hour or so trying to find her owner, as she had no tags. Just as ES and I were returning from the HenFresh up the road, where we had cleverly posted a "Found Dog" flyer, the owner pulled up in a van and collected her. We were pleased that she made it home, but somewhat disappointed that we didn't get to keep her. The general sentiment around the house is that it would be lovely to adopt a GSD mix of some sort when the fence is done.
Also, despite the rain last night, there is no water in the Den of Iniquity. There has not been any water in the Den of Iniquity since
zylch opened the wall, even though it has rained a number of times. Current hypothesis: it behaves better when you're looking at it.
