Hehee! And other noises of triumph.

Not a bad series of two days by any means. Finally bothered to pick up a tripod for the itty bitty digital camera, so that I can manage to take close up shots without my charming fine motor tremors interfering. This means that I can start posting my jewelry on deviantart and that I can start trying to sell my stuff and [livejournal.com profile] opaljax's on ebay. Woo!

Also, my new monitor arrived today. I had gotten my previous monitor for free from a friend who was pitching out old equipment from his office and replacing it. For a time, it was a good monitor, and of course, worth every cent I paid for it. However, it was making the flickering of screen and unannounced tint changes that herald a monitor's passage into the Great Unknown, so it was clear that something had to be done. So I figured, hell, I've got some money saved up from when the State of Kansas withheld checks from me over the holidays and then sent them to me all at once, why not buy a flat-panel? I had to replace the old one anyway, and this one (aside from looking fabulous) solves a major office problem for me: I can't wait until the Cheerleader Cat tries to jump on top of this one (mwa ha ha). The new supersleek black monitor does look fairly dumb in front of my uberclunky IBM pre-windows keyboard, but that's okay. I'm not giving up this keyboard until it dies. I like the noise of the keys and I adore the fact that it doesn't have a Windows key at all.

Thirdly, and justifying the above two things, I got a job offer yesterday! The job is not really all that compelling, but the money is good and they want to hire me right away, which is a plus. The company is a distributor of aftermarket auto parts, and I'll be in their corporate office. Like many companies whose primary business is manufacturing or warehousing, they require all of their employees to pass a drug screen, regardless of job function. So I had to go pee in a cup this morning, which I hate, but hey, it's a paycheck coming, so I suppose it doesn't hurt.

I'm also working on some stuff for Nine Fires Press today -- I feel so damned productive.

Yay, job!!!

**foot ball goal hands** yay, job!! And just for the benefit of the computer-handicapped, when you get done with posting the things (yes, yours too) on ebay and deviantart, will you post the link, or send it to me, please?? I'm curious, and want to see. Did I mention, yay, job?? And what the heck, I do not use too many exclamation points!!! :D

I don't have anything up on ebay yet, more on that tomorrow.

Actually, you do use enough exclamation points that your replies are frequently marked spam by my email filters :-)
