Hehee! And other noises of triumph.
Not a bad series of two days by any means. Finally bothered to pick up a tripod for the itty bitty digital camera, so that I can manage to take close up shots without my charming fine motor tremors interfering. This means that I can start posting my jewelry on deviantart and that I can start trying to sell my stuff and
opaljax's on ebay. Woo!
Also, my new monitor arrived today. I had gotten my previous monitor for free from a friend who was pitching out old equipment from his office and replacing it. For a time, it was a good monitor, and of course, worth every cent I paid for it. However, it was making the flickering of screen and unannounced tint changes that herald a monitor's passage into the Great Unknown, so it was clear that something had to be done. So I figured, hell, I've got some money saved up from when the State of Kansas withheld checks from me over the holidays and then sent them to me all at once, why not buy a flat-panel? I had to replace the old one anyway, and this one (aside from looking fabulous) solves a major office problem for me: I can't wait until the Cheerleader Cat tries to jump on top of this one (mwa ha ha). The new supersleek black monitor does look fairly dumb in front of my uberclunky IBM pre-windows keyboard, but that's okay. I'm not giving up this keyboard until it dies. I like the noise of the keys and I adore the fact that it doesn't have a Windows key at all.
Thirdly, and justifying the above two things, I got a job offer yesterday! The job is not really all that compelling, but the money is good and they want to hire me right away, which is a plus. The company is a distributor of aftermarket auto parts, and I'll be in their corporate office. Like many companies whose primary business is manufacturing or warehousing, they require all of their employees to pass a drug screen, regardless of job function. So I had to go pee in a cup this morning, which I hate, but hey, it's a paycheck coming, so I suppose it doesn't hurt.
I'm also working on some stuff for Nine Fires Press today -- I feel so damned productive.

You can always tell who is typing on what in our office by the rate of speed and the sound of their distinctive keyboard...
Congrats on the job and hoop-jumping/cup-peeing as well, of course.

Sheesh...
Re: Sheesh...
I'm just ramping up to go to fencing. :)

Poke somebody for me; I'll be wandering around Blue Ridge Blvd. looking for my meeting. By the way, did you see that Devin wanted you to call him about tonight's fencing excursion?
Re: fencing
I will give D. a call.
Also, can you pick up some milk on your way home? My malt-based research has reminded me that there isn't any. Chocolatey malty Ovaltine is pretty good dry, but I feel more justified in consuming it if there's milk involved.
milk?
Yes, if I remember I'll grab some on the way home. Call my cell phone if there's anything else.

D'oh!
I'm using 2.0, though, so if you're on a different version, there may be a completely different process to this.

Besides, it might lead to poking later, even if I'm not at fencing practice tonight.

Cats On Monitors
Well, One Day My Friend Brought Over His New iMac. Mazzie Lept On Top, As She Would Any Monitor, To Find That There Was Nothing Behind The Edge Of It. The Monitor, Also, Sunk. She Jumped Off And Bolted, Unhurt, But The Event Jarred Both The iMac, My Cat, As Well As The Owner Of The Very Expensive Brand New Computer.
