Things may be looking up on the job front. My interview this morning seemed to go very well. At the beginning of the process, I was telling the sales manager why I'd be a good fit for the job - by the end of the interview, he was telling me why he thought I'd be a good fit for the job. So that's probably a good sign. On the other hand, he has five more people to interview, and had just finished interviewing an older woman. I think I'm just about at the age where it ceases to matter, but I've been passed over for less qualified but more "mature" candidates before. Also, being as I was talking to a salesman, there is the possibility that he was just being pleasant, and is not actually considering hiring me at all. Still, much better than the tits-are-bad guy.

Also, managed a song about Ochun for the Children's Ritual last night -- I was getting a bit worried about whether or not that was going to occur. Unlike for some of us, creative work frequently does not come on command for me. It's more like a lightning strike than like a trained dog. But lo, not one, but two possibilities. I expect it will all turn out well though -- when searching for an image of Ochun as Our Lady Caridad del Cobre, I found this piece:
.
Some confusion about what any of this has to do with her, as the explanatory text had a lot to do with generic feminine mystery stuff, but hey. We take our omens how we find them, and the barn owl is always good to me. They do look a little like fluffy white vultures when they're little, though, don't they?

In other news that makes me giggle, I apparently gave [livejournal.com profile] chronarchy his first ever hickey. That's hospitality, or service, or some other virtue. :)

Good luck on the job front ... fingers crossed and all that.

You do such lovely collage work. I can't ever seem to get my head around the art form, really.

thank you.

You did indeed give me my first hickey, and if you ever run through the Dedicant Program, I expect to see it mentioned in your DP work because it is such a fine example of good hospitality.

::grin:: I'll try to remember that. Of course, I still have to wake up a druid first. I mean, I woke up with a druid this morning, but I don't think that counts.

Seriously, I teeter on the edge of joining ADF from time to time, but while I like some of the organization's principles a great deal, I have serious reservations about some of the others. The nine virtues, though, I'm down with.

I don't see a difference between waking up a Druid and waking up with one. . . Actually, I think that if more ADF members woke up with Druids, we'd be a much happier crowd.

Should I ask which principles you dislike? Dare I?

I don't know, man. Here we've just gotten friendly, and now we've got to screw it all up talking about religion? :-P

I suspect that this conversation would be best to have in person, or at least via private email. I don't object to having it (especially as I am not entirely certain that I'm right, and am willing to be convinced otherwise on some of these points), but I don't want to offend anybody, being as, well, everybody from the ADF that I know, I really like. And I don't want to have an e-list-worthy argument in my journal (orm rather, if I'm going to argue, I prefer to do it against one person at a time).

I'll drop you a line, or an essay, or something in between.

Yeah, good point. I may never get a hickey again. :)

Well, I admit I'm curious, and hopefully I won't do something wacky like turn around and sugar-coat things. That would be silly and stupid of me. :)

Sometimes I can avoid stupidity.

But not often.
