Blasphemy and the Cable Modem

While I don't normally feel much like Jesus, I'm starting to think that maybe sleeping from Friday to Sunday might be a good idea. You know, just find a hole to crawl in and crash.

But no. Actually, having lived outside the Christian paradigm for some time now, I forgot that this was Holy Week. And accordingly forgot that I have Good Friday off. So when I needed to schedule time for a cable tech to come out and fix my modem, I rejected a Friday appointment, thinking I would be at work, and scheduled a Saturday appointment, thinking that I would be home until I left to go play D&D somewhere around 5ish. Of course, it turns out that I'd have been home on Friday, and D&D starts uncharacteristically early, around noonish. So I'm going to have to skip some of the session to wait on the cable guy. Bah.

All I want is a new modem. Mine got fried in a thunderstorm sometime last year, and I just hadn't gotten around to having it replaced yet. But no. I can't just trade the box in. I have to blow my saturday and wait.

Lucky you at working in so Christian an environment that gives you Good Friday off. I'd say call the cable company to see if you can possibly reschedule.
