Because I'm procrastinating about going out in the snow...
It's the Friday Five...
You have just won one million dollars:
1. Who do you call first?

2. What is the first thing you buy for yourself?
First, I'd pay off all my bills. Then I'd buy one of those uber-squishy space foam mattresses. (When you don't sleep for sh*t, you tend to have small dreams, and most of them have to do with sleeping better...)
3. What is the first thing you buy for someone else?
I don't know if this counts, but I'd put some money aside to send my cousin's daughters to college if they should so desire. Since I'm a non-breeder, they're the closest to descendents I'll ever have.
4. Do you give any away? If yes, to whom?
Absolutely - I can't imagine how I'd go through it all if I didn't. Some to Gaia, some to Harvesters, some to NPR, some to Heifer International, and I doubt I'd be able to sleep at night if I didn't finance one ofbreathofgold's shows... And then there would be presents, in general.
5. Do you invest any? If so, how?
Maybe, but probably not. I don't have the fiscal sense the gods gave a pig, so I wouldn't know what to do with it. I would probably put some money aside for my funeral expenses somewhere, as I don't think that's the sort of thing that other people should have to pay for, but other than that, it would probably sit in a checking account somewhere, if I didn't spend it or give it all away first. As I'll have no descendents, leaving money behind is not really of interest to me, and I prefer to do my donating while I'm alive.
