Also, an announcement (or, the Stupid Question of the Day).

If you have borrowed the black leather pants belonging to our household, can we have them back?
I'm certain we loaned them to someone, and odds are good that that person is on LJ, but I have no idea who they might be anymore, nor do I know the circumstances of the loaning of the pants.

Anyway, if you have a pair of black leather pants around your house that you are reasonably certain are not yours, they might be ours. kthxbye.

*checks pants*

No, I guess I get to keep mine on. They're not leather.

I am giggling all out of proportion with the funniness of this post. It also reminds me that we ought to kick off the UNIPEP season soon.

Great! I'd love to try the silk ones! I have some great flannel that I'll trade.

Sorry.

I haven't gotten into anyone's pants in a long while. Thus, I'm reasonably sure that I do not have a pair of leather pants, since my ass is likely not fitting in a pair of leather pants unless they use the whole cow in the process somehow.

I know I used them for the Deity Auction, but gave them back immediately.

Just because they aren't leather doesn't mean that you have to keep them on.

ducks and runs...

If my brain happens to be attatched, I'll send them home with your ever-loving husband from tonight's meeting. (I think they're clean.)

Duly noted. Let me check with my co-workers.

. . .

Hmm. The response, "If you take your pants off, I'm going home early," actually sounds like a good way to get the rest of the day off.

On the other hand, the response, "That depends on the kind of customer service that belongs more at the Full Monty than in OIT," sounds like I might get fired.

While admittedly this is a good way to take the rest of the year off, I think the pants will stay on for today. My appologies. *sighs*

"Hmm. The response, "If you take your pants off, I'm going home early," actually sounds like a good way to get the rest of the day off."

Either this is really, really comedy gold, or I have returned to my role as the King of the Easily Amused People. I laughed for minutes, here in my office. But no one came out to see what I was laughing at, and that makes me sad.

So you did. I wonder if there's an unexcavated pile of God Auction stuff somewhere... ::wrinkles nose::

[identity profile] featherynscale.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry to hear that. :(

[identity profile] chronarchy.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I understand.

It's a shame that my co-workers have become so used to various silly questions, dancing-like-a-monkey stunts, and strange howls coming out of my cube that such a qestion isn't met with a stuttering response of incredulity, but rather a simple, straightforward answer.

*sighs* I'm losin' my touch. :)

[identity profile] featherynscale.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Nah, they're just used to you, which is good. For a while, you can just add tricks to your repertoire and still get the gibbers and stares, but then, at some point, they come to expect anything from you, anything at all, so that nothing is surprising anymore. I consider this our most sacred and important work as Discordians, elevating people to the point where no matter what weirdass shit comes at them, they can respond with a simple straightforward answer, for truly, isn't this what She does to us?

[identity profile] chronarchy.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
You totally get a point for that.

[identity profile] malvito.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Somehow, I find this to be poetically fitting for the representative of Eris.

[identity profile] featherynscale.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Nifty. But can I trade it for your pants?

[identity profile] chronarchy.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Next time I see you, you may trade this point for my pants.

Do you require a receipt so you can redeem it later?

[identity profile] featherynscale.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:54 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be lovely. It would, in fact, be just about as good as the pants themselves.

[identity profile] chronarchy.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
*nods*

Let me make one up for you and send it.

(Oy, this may start an interesting trend in cashing in points before reaching 10.)

[identity profile] kcwitch.livejournal.com 2005-11-03 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)
i haven't borrowed them (yet) but was gonna ask for them last week. good thing i didn't. LOL!
