It's getting warmer, which means that it's just about time to start another season of public stupidity in the name of entertainment. So the other day, possibly yesterday, but certainly on some day in the past seven (but that's not important right now),

triadruid was declaiming a list of famous people's birthdays, as listed in a calendar that I got free from Half Price Books a couple of months ago (which is a different story). And lo, it came to pass that we discovered that Sigmund Freud's birthday happened to occur on May 6th, which happens to occur on a Friday this year, and also happens to be in the area of when I would have otherwise tried to put on a Hedonism Flaunt for Beltane.

So I was thinking, instead of, or in addition to, the Hedonism Flaunt, we might do a Freudday Friday Party... I was kinda thinking we could all go out to dinner and make dick jokes, sling innuendo, and talk about our mothers. Or, you know, other people's mothers. You could bring your mother, even. The venue would ideally be, of course, the Cigar Box (provided that they're open during dinner hours).

Anybody up for it? Suggestions?

Is GC doing Beltane that weekend, or the one before it?

I'm not saying we can't do two flaunts in a row (I actually think that might be the ideal, unless we think the Hedonism Flaunt draws rain like trailer parks draw tornadoes), but I had thought Beltane was the prior weekend.

I think a Freud Flaunt at the Cigar Box would be most excellent. Having some honest-to-gods mothers with us just makes it even funnier. :)

Beltaine is the week before. We could, of course have Flaunts two weeks in a row, if people were up for all that.

Yes, Beltane for Gaia would be the week before (actually on May 1st this year).
May 8th at GC is Mother's day ritual.

Yes, May 8th is Calling All Goddessess the Mother's Day ritual that we're not specifically making about actual, earthly motherhood and such. If I get my way, it'll be a rave...and I'll be greatly displeased if the flaunting folks skip it, though I might be convinced to have somebody dressed like Dr. Freud make a guest appearance as an Outdweller or something.

Either flaunt should in no way conflict with the mother's day rave experience - one would be the Sunday before, one would be the Friday before. Speaking of the mother's day rave experience, I do hope you'll invite Oshun.
