The List: To Read / Watch in 2007

I just closed out my book and movie list for 2006, which means it's time to start a new one. My reading rate suffered last year from the new job -- in order to carpool with [livejournal.com profile] triadruid, I gave up a real "lunch break", so I lose out on 30-45 minutes of reading time every day during the week. Also, now that I have a real job that I really have to do work at, the amount of church and personal work I can get done during the day has plummeted, so I have to do that in the evenings, instead of dicking around and reading. Oh well. I finished about 50 books last year (some of them didn't make it on to the list), and somehow watched 20 films (which amazes me, knowing how unlikely I am to just sit down and watch a movie).

So here's a start on what I'd like to read/see/etc for the next year:

Holy Crap!

Probably everybody knows this but me by this point, but it's worth a mention. The liquor store next to Crescent Springs apparently was On Fire this morning. [livejournal.com profile] fyreseer reports that Crescent Springs sustained smoke and water damage. I'm going to have to make a moment to go by that block this week -- not only does that involve Kat at CS, but also potentially Beadazzled (my bead shop of record), and Papa Keno's (most favored pizzeria).

I have never been in the liquor store in question, but have been cussed out by the owner on one occasion for parking in front of his store and going down the row to Beadazzled. (NB: The sign in front of the store did not read "Parking for Asshat Liquor Only", it read "15 minute parking", and lo, I am fully capable of doing supply runs in less than 15 minutes, provided that I only need wire and tools. So compliance with postings, yes, asshat, yes.)

I hope everyone is all right.
