O Powers unknown, unnoticed, and unnamed,
Powers new-born and forgotten,
Gods who rustle in the corners,
Gods who gather under the eaves,
You whose realms span between rows of corn, between the lines of parking spaces, between the orbits of electrons,
You whose worlds are the motes of dust beneath the sandals of the gods of sun and moon,
You who watch over things taken for granted,

Powers unknown, unnoticed, and unnamed,
Powers new-born and forgotten,
All you who would aid us, who would come in good will,
We invite you to come forth, to be honored, that your names may be known and spoken in the hearts of humankind.

I think I said one time that you were the word-smith among us, which is true.
